Funding

Funding to Date

While up until last year our association has benefited from modest funding in various forms, including  its spin-off and funding from EU public agencies, our recent efforts have been dedicated to shaping the new initiative on a purely voluntary basis. The dedication and volunteer efforts of our world-renowned experts have enabled us to achieve critical milestones and advance our projects significantly.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude for the generous financial support from the following entities: EIT Digital, ECSEL-JU (two EU governmental agencies), Alexandre Horvath and our spin-off TRUSTLESS.AI.

Additionally, we are thankful for the invaluable non-financial assistance from three accelerator programs: Hardware.co (Berlin, 2016), Fintech Fusion (Geneva, 2019), MACH37 (McLean, 2021). This collective support not only fueled our progress but also reinforced the strength and dedication behind our mission.

Currently, our work is sustained by two committed full-time volunteer staff members, Rufo Guerreschi and Marta Jastrzębska, supported by  contributions from 32 advisors.

Current and Future Fundraising

To meet the strategic goals of the Harnessing AI Risk Initiative and the of Coalition for a Baruch Plan for AI over the next three years, we require funding of $ 1.5 million. This would ideally be extended to $5 million to activate a geopolitically-balanced mix of NGO partners

Given our proven track record of efficiency and cost-effectiveness, a budget of $ 80,000 would allow us to cover essential operations, engage with key stakeholders and partners, secure the logistics for the upcoming 1st Harnessing AI Risk Summit, this November in Geneva, and accomplish significant goals for 2024.

In the long-term, costs of the constituent process, establishment of the treaty organization and its Global Public Benefit AI Lab are foreseen to be over $ 15 billion. The Lab will be financed via the project finance model, by sovereign funds and private capital, buttressed by pre-licensing and pre-commercial procurement by participating states.

In the short-term, funding will come from donations to the Coalition, early pre-seed investment in the Lab and membership fees of states participating in the Harnessing AI Risk Initiative.

As we forge ahead, the engagement and financial support of new partners are crucial to the continuation and expansion of our efforts. We invite new entities to join us in this transformative journey.

Your support will play a pivotal role in enabling us to reach new heights and achieve broader impact. Partnering with us offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to visionary initiatives led by top-tier experts. We are eager to welcome new supporters who are passionate about making a tangible difference in the world.
